Connect USB printers, displays, adapters, keyboards, etc. from across the room with this 5 meter / 16 foot USB 2.0 active extension cable. This cable uses the same electronics and gauge of cable as our popular 10 meter version, but stays within USB 2.0's maximum standard length of 5 meters.

Compatibility

No drivers required on any OS (functions as a one-port USB hub using built-in drivers). Works at full performance with all USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Bus powered devices which require USB 2.0's full 500mA per port (such as USB wireless adapters) may require a powered hub between cable and device, because the cable itself consumes approx 66mA out of 500mA, sharing the remainder with the attached device.

Plugable USB 2.0 Easy Transfer Cable Overview

Transfer files between nearby Windows PCs with greater speed, plug and play ease, and point to point simplicity and security. The Plugable USB 2.0 Easy Transfer Cable is automatically recognized and supported by Microsoft's Windows Easy Transfer (a feature of Windows XP and later). On connection between two PCs, Windows Easy Transfer automatically transfers files and accounts to the new machine (note: programs must be re-installed).

Optional Software

This cable also includes a full license to Bravura's Easy Computer Sync software (.95 value). Created by one of the original developers of Windows Easy Transfer at Microsoft, Bravura adds many features including drag and drop and more complete two-way transfer support, on top of Microsoft's built-in Easy Transfer functionality.

Compatibility

No drivers are required for Windows 7 and later (all drivers included in Windows itself). For Windows XP and Vista, a download of the latest drivers from Microsoft is required. Supported by Linux kernel 3.0 and later as a high-speed virtual network interface, no special file transfer support. No support for Mac. Compatible with active and passive USB 2.0 extenders like the Plugable USB 2.0 10 meter extension cable (not included) for greater distances between PCs.
